As the founder of the Elite Beach Club in Manhattan Beach, California, three-time Olympian Holly McPeak trains young female athletes in her sport of beach volleyball.
The Club offers year-round training and beach camps, designed to help players achieve their dreams of attaining a college scholarship and perhaps even a professional career.
One of her talented pupils, Jenna Gathright, recently signed her Letter of Intent to play beach volleyball at the University of Alabama Birmingham next fall.
Presently, there are over 77 Division I schools competing in beach volleyball and more than 90 colleges that offer beach volleyball programs.
Many of the top players in the world were raised in Southern California and McPeak is among them.
The UCLA grad is the 3rd winningest player of all time on the beach with 72 pro titles.
The 2004 Olympic bronze medalist has also been part of the Ready, Set, Gold! program for the past four years, mentoring students at Estrella Elementary on health and fitness.
