Olympian Cathy Marino, Olympian Rami Zur & Physical Education teacher, Christine Berni-Ramos!
Elizabeth Learning Center (ELC) was one of the very first schools to join Ready, Set, Gold! ELC hosts three of our RSG! Olympians; Olympian Kelly Rickon Mitchell works with the 5th graders, Olympian Cathy Marino works with the 7th graders and Olympian Rami Zur works with the ELC 9th graders! Throughout the years, physical education teacher, Christine Berni-Ramos, has done an amazing job working with not only one Olympian, but three! While most teachers are reluctant to take on more work, Christine has gone above and beyond any one’s expectations to make sure her students get the absolute most out of their PE class. Hosting three Olympic athletes is no joke, but Christine has excelled in making them ALL stand out!
Last week, on Tuesday, January 29th, ELC hosted two of their Olympians, Olympian Cathy Marino and Rami Zur, together. Talk about an A++++++++ visit! With the both of them there, the possibilities were endless. RSG! Program Manager attended the visit as well and she was so thrilled to see how well the students at ELC responded to working with Olympians. Because RSG! works to help increase Fitnesgram scores, the Olympians helped the students work on their cadence timing for their pushups and curlups.
As a middle school or high school student, there is nothing more motivating and inspiring then seeing an Olympic athlete work out beside you, while pushing you, helping you, and encouraging you to do better than your best.
Thank you Cathy, Rami and Christine for continuing to motivate the students at ELC toward a lifetime of fitness!
