Paralympian Candace Cable (pictured) gave a special presentation to the City of Los Angeles Commission on Disability at their June meeting in support of Los Angeles’ bid to stage the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Candace competed in nine Summer and Winter Paralympics in wheelchair racing and cross-country ski racing, and now serves as a vice chair on the LA 2024 organizing committee. She shared her vision for the Games and the positive impact it would have on the lives of people with disabilities should L.A. be chosen the host city.
Candace was joined by two-time Olympian John Moffet (swimming), who is currently the president of the Southern California Olympians & Paralympians Association and an active participant in Ready, Set, Gold!
John shared with the commission his exhilarating memories of competing in his hometown at the ’84 L.A. Olympics and the profound legacy those Games continue to have on generations of Angelenos.
