Two-time Olympic cyclist Giddeon Massie made his first visit of the year to LA Leadership Academy last Friday.
Giddeon taught the 7th graders in Mr. Villanueva’s PE class how to do scapular push-ups as well as other push-up drills.
After the workout, he spoke to the group of 80 students about the importance of staying healthy and how exercise can be a fun activity and doesn’t have to be a chore.
He told the youngsters that he first got into sports when he was 10 years old because it was a fun way to get outside and spend time with his friends.
Giddeon will make four more visits to campus during the academic year to educate the class on health and fitness and to prepare them for the FitnessGram test in the spring.
